When should you see an orthopaedic surgeon?
In addition to treating injuries, orthopaedic surgeons could be able to aid in injury prevention. A few signs indicate when to consult an orthopaedic surgeon like Dr du Plessis, such as persistent discomfort, restricted range of motion, problems with movement, injuries, and the inability to carry out everyday tasks.
Do you need a referral?
You do not require a referral to see Dr du Plessis, but some medical aids will need a referral to reimburse your consultation.
Will medical aid cover your procedures?
This will depend on what orthopaedic procedures your medical aid covers. You can confirm with them before seeing Dr du Plessis, or we can find out on your behalf.
What medical aids do we accept?
We work with all registered Medical Schemes and are contracted to some as Designated Service Providers (DSP). You can enquire whether we are contracted with your scheme.

Dr du Plessis specialises in all areas of orthopaedic surgery but has a special interest in upper limb surgery. Dr du Plessis does not manage spine pathologies.
