Dr Jason du Plessis

Dr Jason du Plessis specialises in upper limb surgery, severe orthopaedic trauma, limb reconstruction, and arthroplasty.

Dr du Plessis completed his medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Cape Town in 2011, graduating with First Class Honours. Upon completing his internship, he returned to Gauteng to complete his internship at Helen Joseph and Rahima Moosa Hospitals. After that, he served community service at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in the Department of General Surgery and the Intensive Care Unit.

Between 2015 and 2020, Dr du Plessis   specialized through the University of Witwatersrand. He earned distinctions for both his Master of Medicine thesis and the College of Medicine final exams. He received the Mannie Lunz medal for orthopaedic surgery in 2020. Throughout his training, he presented numerous papers and posters at congresses and contributed to several journal articles as a lead author. He likes to play golf and watch rugby and football in his free time.
